Brand: Donruss Opening Day
Card number: 191
The 1987 Donruss Opening Day set features the complete opening day lineups from each of the Major League teams. In '87, Larkin was nothing but a rookie but he did manage to beat out Kurt Stillwell for the opening day nod at shortstop. As for the card itself, the '87 Donruss Opening Day design mimicked the regular edition of 1987 Donruss except for a change in the border color (the base set was black bordered). The back of the card has a similar design as well except for a large blurb detailing the opening day news which plays into the theme quite nicely. Overall, it's a solid card - and quite honestly, I think I like this one better than the original 1987 Donruss card!
