Ginter Group Break: Box 6: The Second Half!

I'm not messing around now - at the conclusion of this post I will have busted an entire box in a single morning.  Also at the conclusion of this post the group break will officially be at the halfway mark.  Hard to believe given all the good stuff that we've seen so far that we are only halfway done!

As for the box at hand, we should have two more hits after finding the autograph earlier this morning.  We are also still looking for our rip card in the case (they are seeded 1 per case I believe so we should get one at some point)!

Another big thanks to Atlanta Sports Cards for their sponsorship of the break!

Box #6:
Pack 13:
What's in a Name:  85.  Mike Napoli - Rangers
A&G back mini:  Jerry Bailey - (jockey)

Framed relic:  AGR-BK.  Bob Knight (coach)

Woah!  Yet another non-baseball relic for the case!  This one is the nicest yet (in terms of the relic piece) because it's multiple colors (eBay mojo!!).  With all of the non-baseball hits we've found already, there's a pretty good chance that everyone will walk away with at least one hit (which as the group break host, I'm happy to see)!

Pack 14:
Baseball Sketch:  24.  Roberto Clemente - Pirates

Base SP:  344.  Matt Domingues - Marlins
Black border mini: 300.  Roberto Clemente - Pirates

It was a Clemente hot pack!!

Pack 15:
Baseball Sketch:  19.  Carlton Fisk - Red Sox
Base SP:  310.  Russel Martin - Yankees
Reg. mini:  46.  Jarrod Saltalamacchia - Red Sox

Pack 16:
What's in a Name:  7.  Chase Utley - Phillies
Military Leaders:  Julius Caeser

Pack 17:
Building:  Burj Khalifa
Base SP:  341.  Colby Lewis - Rangers
Reg. mini  286. Neil Walker - Pirates

Pack 18:
Building:  Empire State Building
Base SP:  303.  Ivan Nova - Yankees
Black border mini:  156.  Trevor Cahill - Diamondbacks

Pack 19:
What's in a Name:  58.  Rickey Henderson - Athletics
A&G back mini:  184  Ara Parseghian - (coach)

Pack 20:
What's in a Name:  97.  Justin Upton - Diamondbacks
Reg. mini:  7.  Mickey Mantle - Yankees

Pack 21:
What's in a Name:  1.  Joe DiMaggio - Yankees
Black bordered SP:  318.  Mike Moustakas - Royals

Framed relic:  AGR-HH.  Hank Haney - (golf instructor)

Wow.  First, the black bordered short prints are seeded at a rare 1:130 packs which makes that a great hit for the Royals.  And then, what can I say?  We hit the mother load in terms of non-baseball relics!  There can't be too many left (wouldn't a Kate Upton one be nice)?

Pack 22:
Building:  Metlife Building
Base SP:  301.  Adron Chambers
A&G back mini:  34.  Alex Gordon - Royals

Keepin' the Royals love going for another pack, I see!

Pack 23:
What's in a Name:  16.  Miguel Cabrera - Tigers
Reg. mini:  177.  Stephen Drew - Diamondbacks

Pack 24:
Historical Turning Points:  Emancipation Proclamation
Base SP:  326.  Logan Morrison - Marlins
Musical Masters:  Johann Sebastian Bach

It's worth nothing that this box only contained 4 non-baseball mini inserts but it also had 4 of the black bordered minis (inc. a short print).  I think that's probably a pretty good trade for us since the black bordered cards are much rarer than any of the non-baseball minis!

---

At the halfway point in the break, I hope everyone is loving what we've pulled so far.  We have a boatload of non-baseball relics to distribute (including some of the bigger names) but we've also done fairly well in spreading around the baseball love to the various teams.  By my count, the Giants, Mets, A's, and Rangers all have an auto.  The Red Sox, Braves, Blue Jays, and Cubs (x3) all have relics.  The Cardinals have a cloth card.  The Phillies and Royals each have a black border short print and the Nationals have a no number mini. That's 12 out of a possible 30 teams with at least one hit and we are only halfway through the break.  Of course, there's also the seven different non-baseball relics that we've also found thus far!  Adding those in and we end up with 19 out of 30 teams that are guaranteed at least one hit in the break.
