In 1999, the Pacific Paramount set had a gold retail-only parallel set that mirrored the entire base set. In terms of card design, the gold parallel looks exactly like the regular version of the base card except for the gold foil on the front of the card (the regular version had silver foil). As I mentioned in the post about the base card, I happen to like the design of the set quite a bit. I do think that the gold foil actually adds just a bit of "class" to the card, and thus, I find the gold parallel to be slightly more desirable.
