UD Past Time Pennants Countdown: A Yankee, an Oriole, and a Brewer.

It's been a fun look at the 2005 UD Past Time Pennants set so far!  Even better, as we move higher up the rankings, the cards keep getting better and better.  Today, we work our way to #70 on the list.

#72:  Bucky Dent

Upper Deck must have decided that "determination" is to be a sub-theme within the photography selection.  I don't know how else to explain all the great photos showing players concentrating on making a play (or hitting a ball).  Of course, Dent is best known for that one time when he didn't concentrate as much as he should have...

#71:  Jim Palmer

Palmer's leg kick is impressive - at least until you watch Bronson Arroyo's toy soldier leg kick.  I don't exactly know why I ranked this card as high as I did's sort of blurry.  I guess the fact that you can see the ball, plus the pointer finger sticking out of the glove, did it for me.

#70:  Robin Yount

This isn't the most exciting image I've ever seen in terms of the action on the field (did Yount even make solid contact)?  It certainly looks like a grounder to the first baseman.  No, what interested me was the great old Brewers uniform and the Brewers' "M" logo on the helmet.

As a side note, Robin Yount is the first person to have his ranking in my list match his card number.  Things like that interest me even if they are totally meaningless.
