Barry Larkin
Year: 1993
Brand: Fleer
Card number: 394
The 1993 Fleer set isn't the most inspiring set - but it is a marked improvement over some of the early 90s Fleer offerings. The front of the card is particularly poor - way too much grey and the vertical name bar is difficult to read. It's actually the back of the cards that saves 1993 Fleer - they are almost perfect! The card number is easy to read, you get full career statistics, you get a team logo (albeit a bit too small), and you get a second player photo. In addition, you'll never wonder whose card you are looking at with the giant last name of the player staring you in the face! The other good thing about the 1993 Fleer set is that it laid the groundwork for Fleer's 1994 set (a severely underrated set)...but the good times end there because the 1995 Fleer set is a total train wreck. The less said about that set, the better.
