It's time to unveil the boxes for my first group break of 2014. While most people on the blogs appear to have already dismissed the 2014 Topps flagship set, I think I have a collection of boxes from a bunch of cool sets from years past! It is my hope that the following boxes will represent a FUN break - with all sorts of shiny cards, parallels, and even a few hits.
Let's unveil the boxes in the break! There are a total of FIVE different boxes included - pricing and other details are at the bottom of the post (please read everything carefully)! Plus, a special surprise to make the group break a bit more exciting from start to finish!
Box #1:
2000 Topps Tek:
I might as well start the new year of group breaks off on a good foot so to speak - Topps Tek is a favorite among team collectors (and a set that I'm guessing every team collector still needs at least a few cards from)! The Topps Tek box contains 20 packs with 4 cards per pack and includes a few different inserts including sequentially numbered rookie cards, Dramatek Performers, Tektonics, and Architeks. Specific odds are not printed on the outside of the box for any of the insert set so we'll have to wait until I open the box to get those!
Box #2:
2000 Topps Stadium Club Chrome:
I don't know much about this set - but I know people love the old Stadium Club...and people love Chrome...so why not love the mash-up of those two concepts? This hobby box contians 24 packs with 5 cards per pack. Included inserts in this set are sequentially numbered First Day Issue, Capture the Action, True Colors, Eyes of the Game, Clear Shots, and Visionaries. There are also refractors of all base cards and all insert cards! In other words, this is a box full of glorious shiny!! Once again, specific odds aren't listed on the box so that's the best I can say for now.
Box #3:
2001 Topps Stadium Club:
I believe the last time I opened a Stadium Club box for a group break I pulled a dual relic - will this box yield another such great find? It could as the box contains 12 packs (but with 18 cards per pack)! The set contains Lone Star Signatures, Stadium Club Souvenirs (relics), Prospect Performance (relics), Play at the Plate (batter's box dirt cards), and Diamond Pearls. While the box does not have any specific odds mentioned, this site claims that the Batter's Box dirt cards are seeded 1:10 packs which would mean we'd be sure to get at least one in the box!
At this point, I'm guessing you probably think this group break is already awesome - how could it possible get any better? Well...
Box #4:
1995 Fleer Flair:
Heck yes. Flair is awesome - and this box is going to be full of awesome since it contains 24 packs cards (with six cards per pack I believe). As with many mid-90s products, there are inserts sets in tihs one including Hot Numbers, Outfield Power, and Today's Spotlight. This particular box is Series 1 for those who might be wondering.
Box #5:
1999 Topps Gallery:
When I saw this box available, I knew I had to get it and make it part of a group break. The Topps Gallery set is a fun set full of interesting inserts and card designs. This is one box that will definitely be interesting from start to finish! The box contains 24 packs with 6 cards per pack - plus the chance to pull autographs, 1/1 printing plates, Gallery of Heroes die-cut cards, and plenty of cool things!
----------------
So, in total the break will consist of FIVE full boxes. I've decided to go with a slightly different pricing scale this time around for a few teams - mostly because some teams aren't as well represented in the Topps Tek set (the Brewers have no cards in the set for instance, every other team has at least one player). As such, the price is PER SLOT rather than per team (I've grouped a few teams together). As always, if you buy the Dodgers (for instance) and a Brooklyn Dodgers card comes up you'd get that card. Cards featuring multiple teams will be randomized at the end of the break between all the teams featured on the card.
ALL SLOTS are $25.00 and include shipping to the United States. If you live outside the US (or, at least, if you want your cards shipped outside the US) then you will need to pony up more cash in order to pay the exorbitant fees that the USPS now charges for international shipping. I'm sorry about that but it's the only way I can keep my pricing down.
---------------
How do I sign up?
In order to sign up for the break, you need to complete three simple steps.
1. Claim your team(s) by first leaving a comment on this post stating which team(s) you are claiming.
2. Submit your payment via PayPal (please mark as gift and include no other information on the PayPal payment). Please send payment to fanofreds (dot) auctions (at) gmail (dot) com. Please note that both "fanofreds" and "auctions" are plural in my email address!
3. Email me (same address as in step 2) an email with:
Once you have successfully completed all three steps, I will update the available teams list to show that you are paid and successfully in the break! I ask that you include all the information in your email even if you've traded with me in the past (or participated in past group breaks) - it saves me a lot of time and helps me make sure your package is packed and shipped in an expedited way!
NOTE: Payment (or arrangements for payment) must be made within 24 hours of claiming your team or I reserve the right to reopen the slot. I've been burnt twice in the past by non-paying buyers (including once by someone who had previously been in a group break of mine and paid).
The Slots:
Each slot is $25.00. The single team slots are listed first and then the multi-team slots (which also cost $25.00). The idea is that some of the lesser teams might be more attractive if packaged together!
Even better, here's a special surprise for this group break:
IF at least 15 slots are claimed: I will "reward" the WORST slot at the end of the group break with a complete base set (cards 1 - 300) of 2013 Topps Allen & Ginter for free. That's right, take a flyer on a team like the Pirates or a multi-team slot containing the Astros - if that slot ends up being the worst then you'll walk away with a full base set of 2013 Topps Allen & Ginter (plus all the cards from your slot) for $25.00. My hope is that this bonus will encourage people to take some of the "lesser" teams this time around!
If ALL 22 slots are claimed: I will give two rewards (a full 2013 A&G base set and a full 2011 A&G base set) (cards 1-300 in both cases). In the case of all slots being full, the worst slot will get first choice between the 2013 or 2011 set and then the second worst slot will get the remaining set. In order to determine the "worst slot", I will keep a tally of all base cards, inserts, parallel, serially-numbered cards, etc. and the two poorest performing slots will get the bonus!
No more sign-ups allowed - the group break is now closed!

Comments
I'll take Yankees! (Fooled you, didn't I? These were the dreaded FOX Dodgers years.) Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI'll take the NL West Foes if you can wait until approximately the 17th for payment. BTW, would you be willing to swap out the DBacks for any of the three teams in the Midwest Matchup grouping (If no, I'll still take them, but if it is my choice I'd pick Brewers).
ReplyDeletePatriotic Fish for me. Payment coming
ReplyDeletepetethan & Jaybarkerfan: You are both in, thanks!
ReplyDeleteCards from the Quarry: That works for me, I know you are good for it! I've switched the Brewers in for you and the DBacks out as requested.
Put me down for the Cardinals. I'm a sucker for those weird Tek cards.
ReplyDeleteI think I need/want some of these. Let me claim the White Sox.
ReplyDeleteI was debating about joining or not. I'll claim the B'More O's
ReplyDeleteThose years should have some cool Ripkens and possibly some super cool Eddie Murrays
I'll take the Tigers.
ReplyDeleteI'll take the RedSox.
ReplyDeleteAlright - Braves it is. Let's do this!
ReplyDeleteAll paid up for the Braves!
ReplyDeleteCount me in for the Dodgers, please.
ReplyDeleteI'm in for Indians!! Payment headed your way!
ReplyDeleteAlright. I'll take the Mets under the original ($25) terms.
ReplyDeleteSaid this on the other post, but I'll take the Texas Pride duo. Texas forever.
ReplyDeleteON the other post, I mentioned that I'd take that $50 offer to get an A&G '11 set and I picked the D-backs, Twins, and Blue Jays. If Cards from the Quarry is still interested, I'd be happy to trade the Brewers (my team) for the D-backs.
ReplyDeleteTony I would trade the Brewers for the Twins or Jays because I am low in the trade stack on them. I have way too many Diamondbacks though. It's why I swapped them out in the first place.
