Barry Larkin
Year: 1995
Brand: Leaf
Insert set: Great Gloves
Card number: 9
The Leaf brand was always a bit of a mystery to me growing up since my local CVS (where I bought the majority of my baseball cards) never seemed to carry Leaf packs. Either that or the Leaf packs were too expensive for my exceedingly modest allowance-fueled budget at the time. Happily, I can now say that I own both the 1995 Leaf Barry Larkin base card and this card which I believe are the only two Barry Larkin cards in the set! It feels great to have a set done - especially a mid-90s set that I didn't actually collect as a kid!
Anyhow, I have to say that I like this insert card quite a bit! The Great Gloves theme is pretty cool for a player like Larkin - and the card design fits the theme wonderfully. If I could make one change to the design it would be to get rid of the gigantic "Great Gloves" watermark on the front and back. Otherwise, it's a wonderful piece of cardboard for my Barry Larkin Collection!
As for the insert set, according to Baseballcardpedia, the Great Gloves were seeded 1:2 series 2 packs (hobby or retail). I probably would have landed this card many, many years ago had Leaf been available at my local drugstore...but alas, sometimes good things comes to those who wait!

Hey, I have that one too! I tend to enjoy the glove/defense-themed sets myself so I picked it up. Looks like card #350 should be coming up soon, maybe this month?
