Baseball cards can be a funny business. For what it is worth, I though that the 2016 Donruss box would be the least interesting box and that people would really dig the Diamond Kings box. However, as of this posting at least, it seems that the vocal among you greatly prefer Donruss over Diamond Kings!
And you know what? I think I do too, and I did NOT see that coming!
Anyhow, perhaps this post will change some of your minds about the set.
126. Ken Griffey Jr. - Mariners
130. Rickey Henderson - Athletics
68. Eric Hosmer - Royals
74. George Springer - Astros
12. Leo Durocher - Dodgers
165. Jonathan Gray - Rockies
169. Tom Murphy - Rockies
DKM-TG. Dual Relic: Tyler Glasnow - Pirates #10/25
First of all, congrats to Need More Cardboard who ended up with the Pirates as his second team. This is a great looking card for Pittsburgh - I love the fact that you get both a black and a white bit of cloth...perfect colors for the Pirates!
On the back, the card is numbered out of only 25 - another great pull for our group break for sure! And for Glasnow himself, according to this article from a couple of days ago, he is developing into a complete starter. He is the Pirates #1 prospect and is currently in AAA - I'd say this is a darn good pull!
And there we have it - our first (of two) hits from the box. It's hard to beat a true up-and-coming star rookie dual relic numbered out of 25...but in my opinion, the second hit is even better. More on that in a future pack post though - for now, enjoy this one!
