Barry Larkin Collection 520: 2000 Pacific Aurora - #37 - Pinstripe Parallel

Barry Larkin
Year:  2000
Brand:  Pacific Aurora
Parallel set:  Pinstripe
Card number:  37

I've already featured Larkin's regular base card from the 2000 Pacific Aurora set here.  Today, we get to take a look at the parallel of that base card, something called a Pinstripe parallel (for obvious reasons).

The Pinstripe parallel was actually only a partial parallel of the full Aurora set.  Out of the 151 base cards, only 50 had a corresponding Pinstripe parallel version.

It should be noted that there is a third parallel set called Pinstripes Premier which are all numbered to 52 for the exact same checklist as the regular Pinstripe parallels.  And, seeing as how this is a set from the year 2000, there is yet another parallel set called Premier Date that was hobby only for every card in the base set (not just the Pinstripe parallels).  I don't own either version of the Premier Date parallels as of this posting.

Returning to the focus of today's post, I think that the Pinstripe Parallel looks better than the original base card (which I also like).  Another nice thing about this particular parallel is that it is extremely obvious when you pull one from a pack.  No searching itty bitty numbers on the backside of a card to see if you have some sort of variation *cough Topps cough*.
