(Not So) New Box Break at Nachos Grande

It's time for a (not so) new box break here at Nachos Grande.  I say "not so" new for two reasons.  First, the box I am going to break is a box of 2015 Upper Deck Dinosaurs.  Hard to call a box from 2015 "new" when we are in the year 2017.  It's new to me at least - and hopefully it will help me inch closer to completing my Dinosaurs base set (and many of the insert sets) that I'm still working on.

The second reason why I say this is "not so" new is that I actually received the box back on June 30 - and I busted it over the span of a couple of days in late June/early July.  However, since the Dinosaurs box isn't exactly "current news" AND knowing that my semester turns crazy around November, I figured I would type up all these posts as I opened the packs during the summer but save the posts and make them go "live" in November.  In that way we all win - you get something "new" to read/look at and I can keep the blog active during what is almost always the busiest month of the fall semester for me (after all, last November I only managed to post 16 times, the least amount of posts for me in any month of 2016).

With the preamble out of the way, let's see what this box holds, shall we?

Each 2015 hobby box of 2015 Upper Deck Dinosaurs promises to contain 4 3-D cards, 1 Age of the Dinosaurs patch card, and 1 sketch card.  There are also awesome Predators of the Seas cards that 1:40 packs (or 1 in every other box).  Finally, there are rare ROAR audio booklets (1:500 packs) and even rarer authentic Fossil Relics (1:1000).  I believe I've opened two boxes of 2015 Upper Deck already and I have yet to find either of the super rare cards but I have found some from the rest of the insert sets.  It's a great set with fun base cards...and frankly, I can't wait to get going (so let's do it)!

Prior to opening the box, let's take a look at what my want list looks like.  Hopefully the want list will be much smaller at the conclusion of the box break.
2015 Upper Deck Dinosaurs Wants (as of 6/30/17):
Base:
 1, 5, 12, 19, 22, 25, 32, 35, 41, 54, 55, 61, 64, 70, 75, 78, 80, 82, 84, 85, 86, 88, 91, 96, 97, 112, 126, 127, 128, 130, 131, 133, 134, 136, 137, 139, 140, 141, 143, 145, 146, 147, 148, 149
Inserts:
3-D Lenticular:  1, 3, 4, 5, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 24, 26, 28, 30, 31, 32, 34, 35, 36, 38, 40, 41, 42
Stickers:  S- 2, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 21, 26, 28

Pack 1:
8.  Allosaurus

17.  Utahraptor

47.  Tarbosaurus

49.  Seismosaurus

132.  Arctocyon

Cards 126 - 150 are part of the High Series Super Short Print Ice Age Creatures subset.  For the pack, I needed exactly zero of the cards (which isn't a good way to start the box, let's be honest).  In fact, I need 18 of the super short prints and yet the Arctocyon is one that I already own.  Ouch all around.  Oh well, hopefully the rest of the packs will be better for me!

  1. That Allosaurus card is really cool. Hope you pull a bunch of cards you need... or even one of those rare fossil relics.
