Happy June, everyone! It seems impossible to believe that we are already in June; where did the first half of the year go? As usual, with the start of a new week, I have a new batch of TCDB trades to show off from the previous week.
Trading has definitely been kind of slow lately, probably because my want list is much, much smaller than it was a few years ago. I've been working hard on adding as few new sets as possible to my want list while simultaneously reducing the number of sets I'm trying to collect. Of course, even the best plans don't always quite work out, and last week's lone TCDB trade envelope is a perfect example of when that can happen!
I made a swap with user lpb331 that netted me a pair of cards in exchange for a few cards from his want list:
Greg Maddux is one of the last few cards I need for my 1997 Metal Universe set build. That particular set is a set that I recently added to my want list. In fact, I only decided to chase after and build the set about a year ago (a decision that flew directly against my main goal of reducing the overall size of my baseball card collection)! The Ken Griffey, Jr. card is from the '95 Donruss set, a set that I have no plans to ever collect. However, I needed to find something else from lpb331's trade offerings in order to "even out" what I was sending his way. I do have a fairly large (though entirely unorganized) Ken Griffey, Jr. PC. For now, that Bomb Squad card will simply sit on top of my pile of Griffey cards. Someday, I'll take the time to organize all of my cards of the Kid!
That's it for last week on TCDB. I did make a second deal, but it was a sale of some of my cards for cash. In reality, I'm extra happy if I can sell some of my extra cards - that gives me cash for new cards while simultaneously reducing the overall footprint of my collection. I guess with that in mind, last week wasn't so bad in terms of my collection growth!

Happy June! The first half of the year did seem to fly by. Let's hope things slow down a little over summer break.
