Today marks my final Monday off until the fall semester of teaching begins. August is always a tough month for me as it marks the end of summer and the beginning of another year of work. Luckily, I generally enjoy my job, so it's not all doom and gloom here!
That all said, let's ignore the concept of work for a few minutes at least and, instead, turn our attention to some recent TCDB mailings.
First up, from user RyanFrueh comes a pair of Silver Pack Chrome Mojo cards from this year's Topps set.
Both of the cards in this swap were from Topps Series 2. For whatever reason, Topps split their usual 100-card Chrome set into a pair of 50-card sets. The first 50 cards were added to the 100-card Series 1 Chrome Mojo set, while the other 50 cards went towards starting a new 1990 All-Star set. Since those All-Star cards were subsets in 1990, I think Topps could have sprinkled them into the regular Chrome Mojo set (ideally, thoughout both Series 1 and 2), but hey, what do I know?
My other TCDB trade from last week followed a similar trend.
The batch of four cards was thanks to user bmeza93. It's always great to land several needed cards at once, and even better when I can mail out several unwanted base cards in order to acquire said cards!
As you can tell, I'm still plugging away at this year's Topps Silver Pack Chrome Mojo cards. Unfortunately for me, I still have a long way to go until I'm able to claim set completion. Here's what I'm still on the prowl for:
