Happy Groundhog Day, everyone. I can't say I care much what the little rodent says about the weather, but I know that I'm officially sick of winter! At least I have my baseball cards to keep me entertained while it's too cold to do anything outside (and too snowy, it's been so cold for the past week that none of the snow from last weekend's big storm has even melted).
Never mind the cold and snow, let's look at some baseball cards (coincidentally, we start with several cards that kind of remind me of cold and snow and the holiday season)!
First up, from user Ronsolo1 comes nine cards from last year's Topps Holiday set.
I ended up having to trade for quite a few of the 2025 Holiday cards, despite the fact that I opened up both an Advent Calendar and a mega box of the Holiday set for myself! This was a nice batch of cards to get, mostly because I needed that Skenes, and trading for him is often difficult (though nowhere near as difficult as trading for guys like Ohtani or Judge)!
Next, from user DarthMosh comes a nice selection of 2025 Topps Holiday cards:
One thing is for sure, it's much easier to trade for base cards on TCDB as opposed to inserts and parallels! This is the second large trade where I was able to acquire a bunch of Holiday base cards...and it's not the last trade like that for this post!
My next trade was with user ILLRIMESAYA:
Yep, more 2025 Topps Holiday cards! Unfortunately, the Coby Mayo card is actually one of the holiday short prints (Christmas light necklace). That means I need to add his base card back to my want list!
In fact, we stick with 2025 Topps Holiday with my next trade courtesy of user tonycl227:
Even more 2025 Holiday cards, including a slew of needed Dodgers (but not Shohei).
Speaking of Shohei, my next trade (courtesy of cchstove) DID feature a needed Ohtani card!
I am now pleased to report that I am now the proud owner of the complete set of the Making the Nice List inserts from last year's Holiday Advent Calendar! It's also great to have landed several needed A&G minis (though none of my A&G mini sets from 2025 are complete quite yet).
That will do it for the past week or so worth of trading. I still haven't quite gotten to the bottom of the pile of trade envelopes, so I'll certainly have more to show off next week!
