My 2013 New Year's Resolutions: At the One-Quarter Mark

Now that April is in full swing, that means that we've completed three months in 2013...which should equate to a full quarter of my 2013 New Year's Resolutions being complete, right?  I figured it might be a good idea to visit my resolutions throughout the year rather than only at the end of December when I find out how little I actually accomplished.  Maybe this way I'll remain more diligent in working toward my various goals.  Here's how things stack up so far this year (with the reminder that the year is still young after all) in terms of a few of my goals.

1.  Complete at least FIVE of the following sets:
1985 Topps:  181
1988 Pacific Legends:  64, 111
1991 Score:  561, 812, 890
2006 Fleer Greats of the Game:  Cardinals Greats:  BG
2006 Fleer Greats of the Game:  Dodgers Greats:  PR, SS
2007 Topps Heritage:  New Age Performers:  2, 8
2008 Upper Deck Masterpieces:  99, 100, 105, 108, 115, 118
2008 Topps Heritage base:  464, 465, 480, 488, 495, 500
2008 Upper Deck Timeline:  I need 17 more cards
2008 Topps Stadium Club:  15, 78, 108b, 117b
2009 Topps Allen & Ginter:  Inventions of the Future:  5
2009 Topps Allen & Ginter:  Extinct Creatures:  1
2009 Topps Allen & Ginter:  Creatures of Legend, Myth, & Terror:  5, 7, 14, 15
2009 Topps Allen & Ginter regular back minis:  I need 9 8 more cards
2012 Topps Archives base:  203, 230

So far, so good.  Three of the original goals are complete (and to be fair, so was the 2012 Topps Archives original goal, I had to add #230 because it was an oversight on my part back when I wrote my original goals.  Even so, I'll take three completed sets by mid-April...it makes knocking off two more sets much more feasible over the next nine months!

2.  Put up a LEGO minifigure want list and start posting various LEGO minifigures on my blog.
This one is an easy success - I ended up making a brand new LEGO-centric blog (see it here).  I don't post over there nearly as often as I do here at Nachos Grande, but I'm still happy with my progress.

4.  Grow my Barry Larkin Collection to at least 200 scanned/written cards.
I'm getting closer to completing this goal as well - at last count I've written 175 different Larkin card posts (counting this afternoon's post).  Twenty five more Larkin Collection posts should certainly be doable over the next nine months.

As you can see with the three goals that I highlighted above, I'm doing quite well.  Of course, I neglected to mention the other seven goals - some of which I'm not doing such a good job with (such as growing my average blog readership).  Luckily, there's still time to turn that around - and hopefully by the time next December rolls around I'll be able to say I had a lot of success stories in 2013!

  1. You're doing awesome. I'm too scared to see how my resolutions are going.
