Barry Larkin

The 1990 Star set features 11 different Barry Larkin cards. I showed off the first card in the set a few days ago (see it here). The second card in the set is definitely the closest thing to a "real" or "regular" baseball card in the set. In particular, this is the card in the set that features full career stats along with a small blurb about how Larkin was acquired by the Reds (#1 draft pick in 1985). I like that they give the scout Gene Bennett a shout out on the card too!
Overall, I think this is one of the more boring cards in the set (that photo looks like something used in one of those Classic game cards) and the back of the card, while fine, isn't anything to write home about. Luckily, the interest level in the remainder of the set is going to be quite a bit higher - and I'll be sure to feature those cards as well as my Barry Larkin Collection series of posts continues to grow!
