It's the third, and final, panel from the 2006 Topps rack pack. Box 1 won the first panel, Box 2 took the second panel, so the glory of the rack pack comes down to this. Each middle panel contains a few 2006 Topps cards plus "3 Extra Topps Vintage Cards"! (Emphasis from the package...not from me!) Who will be victorious? Let's see.
Note: For complete scoring rules, check out the initial post.
Pack #09: 2006 Topps Series 2 - Bottom Panel
Box 1:
348. Reggie Sanders Gold Parallel (10 points for being an insert, then x2 for being serially numbered = 20 points)
544. Mark Bellhorn (0 points)
576. Rondell White (0 points)
616. Kenji Johjima (0 points)
2006 Topps Checklist #1 of 3 (0 points)
Topps of the Class Junk Card (0 points)
1989 Topps #497: Pete Stanicek (0 points)
1990 Topps #109: Roberto Kelly (It's a Yankee, -4 points)
1990 Topps #733: John Dopson (It's a Red Sox, -2 points)
Total points: 20 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 - 4 - 2 = 14 points
Well, the gold parallel carried the middle panel for Box 1. The "vintage cards" were overproduced crap from the early 90s...and I don't see how those can be considered vintage! The worst part was the two of the three so-called vintage cards were of negative scoring teams. Still, not a terrible total given the craptitude that has been the repack boxes...can Box 2 do any better?
Box 2:
630. Ronny Paulino (+2 points for being a Pirate.)
644. Ricky Nolasco (0 points)
645. Paul Maholm (+2 points for being a Pirate. It's a good thing I decided to give a bonus for Pirates cards...I haven't pulled many Reds at all!)
2006 Topps Checklist #3 of 3 (0 points)
Topps of the Class junk card (0 points)
MHR67: Mickey Mantle Home Run History - Mickey Mantle (+10 points for the insert but -5 because it's yet another Mantle card)
1989 Topps. #315 Greg Swindell (0 points)
1990 Topps. #358 Andres Thomas (0 points)
1990 Topps. #634 Luis Polonia (-4 points for being a Yankee)
Total points: 2 + 0 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 5 + 0 + 0 - 4 = 5 points
Boy, those are about the most boring "vintage cards" possible. Once again, Box 1 is victorious by taking 2 out of the 3 panels.
Running tally:
Box 1: 7 pack wins and +105 total points
Box 2: 3 pack wins and +58 total points

I was waiting for the middle panel to see what vintage cards you got.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I'd get something fairly decent. But most of the time it was exactly what you got.
