The Topps Big line lasted for three years with the 1990 edition being the final year of the set. You can find the 1988 Topps Big Larkin and the 1989 Topps Big Larkin by clicking on the appropriate links. When comparing the three sets, it seems clear that the Topps' designers mailed it in when designing the '90 set. The front is a hideous collection of shapes and colors, along with an even more hideous blue and purple "ribbon" running through the bottom third of the card. The back of the card is adequate, but it too fails when compared to the previous two year's versions. All things considered, it was probably a wise move by Topps to retire the Topps Big line - plus I'm happy there aren't any more annoying slightly oversized Larkin cards to have to track down (and then store)!

Update 4/3/2022: Since the original time of this post, I've learned that there are two different variations of this particular Barry Larkin card - the card you see here is what I'm calling variation 2 (the copyright line contains a "D" in it).
