Card number: 142
Classic produced baseball card sets from 1987 through 1992 but never had a breakout design. In fact, I would say that most years look the same (compare this card to the design of 1987 or 1989 for example). In fact, if it weren't for the colored border changing (and the year in the upper right corner), there's almost no way to differentiate the years!
In terms of the actual Larkin card, I can't say that the purple works for me. In fact, it's actually quite hideous with the bright red Reds' uniform of the day. The best part of the card is the photo framing (I like how Larkin's feet extend over the border a bit). Other than that, there isn't much else to say (though the trivia question of "who had the most RBI's in the N.L. in 1990 seems pretty tough - even if this was a card from the next year).
