The Ultimate Ginter Mini Set Bracket: Voting Begins NOW on the Mythological Region!

Welcome to the third region of the bracket of 64!  

Today, we take a look at the 16 teams that comprise the:

As before, I'll give a brief rundown of each of the various match-ups and then solicit your votes for the winner of each match-up down at the bottom of the post.  

2009 Creatures of Legend, Myth, and Terror vs. 2009 Extinct Animals

This particular region of the bracket sets the name "Mythological" for a few reasons but the main reason is because it is home to the #2 see in the tournament (Creatures of Legend, Myth, and Terror). Not only that, but there are two other Mythological themed sets within this part of the bracket (all of which should make for some potentially super interesting votes down the line)!  That all being said, despite being the second highest seed in the tournament I think that the 2009 Creatures set drew a tough first round match-up with the 2009 Extinct Animals super stealth set.  The '09 Animals already throttled their play-in opponent and a victory over the 2009 Creatures would open this part of the bracket up for the remaining sets!

2015 First Ladies vs. 2016 US Mayors

My personal bias is that I'm sick of politics..and also sick of politics in my baseball cards so for me no matter which set wins here I'm going to be rooting for them to lose in their next round.  That all being said, surely First Ladies are more impressive than Mayors, right?

2007 World's Deadliest Snakes vs. 2012 World's Greatest Military Leaders

This should be a fun match-up. We have the (only) five card stealth mini Snakes set from 2007 up against a rather well done 2012 Military Leaders set with a fairly large checklist.

2011 Animals in Peril vs. 2015 Mythological Menaces

Our second (of three total) mythological themed sets within this region, the 2015 Mythological Menaces actually had a tough time in its play-in round (advancing by a score of 10-7 over the 2011 World's Most Mysterious Figures).  I have to think that bodes well for the Animals in Peril (finally, something going right for animals in peril today)!

2016 Ferocious Felines vs. 2017 Horse in the Race

Do you like cats or horses?  For me, the choice is obvious:  Horses all the way but I have a feeling my personal preference may not make it out of the round of 64 here.

2010 National Animals vs. 2019 Dreams of Blue Ribbons

The 2019 Dreams of Blue Ribbons set is perfectly adequate but I love the design of the 2010 National Animals set (complete with the country flag in the background of each card).  I'll be super sad if the National Animals don't make it to at least the Round of 32.

2013 Peacemakers vs. 2014 Athletic Endeavors

The Peacemakers set got a lot more love than I was expecting during the seeding posts so I now have no idea what to expect here.  I would have thought that the Athletic Endeavors set was a shoo-in but now I'm not so sure.

2019 New to the Zoo vs. 2010 Creatures of Legend, Myth, and Joy

The third and final mythological themed set of the region features what I think is the best match-up of this round in this particular region.  Both of these sets are awesome in their own right - you've got the retail only New to the Zoo from last year against the super rare Creatures of Legend, Myth, and Joy from about a decade ago.  You can't go wrong with either choice here as far as I'm concerned...there's a very real chance that whoever wins this match-up will make it to the Elite 8 at least!
