The Ultimate Ginter Mini Set Bracket: The Last of the Round of 32 (Wide World Region Voting Now Open!)
It's time to finish off the Round of 32 voting with the fourth and final region of our bracket. Once voting is complete for the Wide World Region, our Sweet Sixteen will be set and then the competition will really ramp up in intensity! It should only get more and more fun from here on out...and trust me, the choices are going to keep getting tougher and tougher as we go!
As before, I'll give a brief rundown of each of the various match-ups and then solicit your votes for the winner of each match-up down at the bottom of the post.
2007 Flags of All Nations vs. 2017 World's Dudes
This is one of the toughest votes in the entire Round of 32 for me! The 2007 Flags of All Nations set is a wonderfully designed set with each country's flag getting the bulk of the card design but then the background of each card has iconography from that particular country. It's that little bit of extra work on the design that makes the 2007 Flags of All Nations set one of my personal favorite early Topps A&G mini sets! On the other hand, the 2017 World's Dudes set is one of my favorite of the more "modern" A&G mini sets. It's a large set and it's quirky enough to fit in well with the idea of Ginter. The real shame here is that both sets can't make it to the Sweet Sixteen.
2008 Ancient Icons vs. 2013 The First Americans
The First Americans set has received a lot more love than I was expecting when the bracket voting started. I'm thinking that the magical run might be over though now that the early Americans have run into the juggernaut that is the 2008 Ancient Icons set.
2014 Outlaws, Bandits, & All-Around Ne'er Do Wells vs. 2008 Pioneers of Aviation
Will the stealth insert from 2008 score an upset here over the 2014 Outlaws set? Once again, I like both of these sets...and I think this is enough proof that the Wide World Region of the bracket might be the most stacked region (or at least the most well-balanced region). Seriously, any of the eight remaining sets from this region would make for a great Final Four representative.
2015 Birds of Prey vs. 2010 Monsters of the Mesozoic
If the first three votes weren't tough enough, we arrive at the fourth match-up of the region and once again you have a doozy to pick between. On the one hand, the 2010 Monsters of the Mesozoic is a set about dinosaurs...and that's tough to beat. But then again, the 2015 Birds of Prey is also a set about dinosaurs (at least their modern ancestors) so who knows how this vote will end up?!
And that does it for this region of the bracket. Time to vote!
To vote, please copy the text below and then delete the set you don't want to win. This will make it a lot easier for me to quickly tally the winners of each match-up. I also encourage you to stump for your favorite sets (remember, there is a bracket prediction contest going on here as well).
